films for children with disabilities...

We are pleased to present, in our Cinema at The Old Waterworks, film shows for children with disabilities. These allow them the opportunity to experience a 'big screen' film show while allowing parents and carers to relax, safe in the knowledge that, if their children are a bit boisterous (or even want to leave halfway through!), it doesn't matter at all. The screenings are funded by the Council under their Short Breaks initiative and admission is free to children and parents/carers. Soft drinks are available for the children and tea/coffee for the adults (all at no cost) and parents/carers are welcome to bring their food and drink. There's ample parking: the entrance into the yard at The Old Waterworks is opposite the former Nelson pub on North Road, Southend SS0 7AB.

Our seasons run from September to March, excluding December, with films being shown on one Saturday each month. All films are either 'U' or 'PG' certificate. Classic cartoons are shown for half an hour before the films come on.

Please check back for dates for our next season. As we have received extra funding, we will  be showing each film in the morning (at 10.30am [doors open at 10am]) and in the afternoon (at 2pm [doors open at 1.30pm]).

We look forward to seeing you - and, more importantly, your children - at the Saturday Morning Pictures!
